Castle Hill Inn occupies a promontory at the southwestern tip of Aquidneck Island where the bay meets the ocean, and the dining room’s position — looking directly across Narragansett Bay toward the lighthouse — is the finest restaurant view in Rhode Island. That setting alone would be enough to justify a reservation. The food makes it a genuinely complete experience. The kitchen works with the best of what New England produces: local seafood, seasonal vegetables from Rhode Island farms, and a wine list built with real thought. The menus change to reflect what’s available rather than what’s convenient, which produces cooking that feels specific to its place and moment. Castle Hill works particularly well for occasions — anniversaries, the night before a wedding, a group dinner that marks something worth marking. The terrace in summer, with the lighthouse at the end of the point and boat traffic moving across the bay, is one of those settings that justifies the planning required to be in it. Reservations are essential and should be made well in advance for summer evenings. The Sunday brunch is also excellent and often more accessible than weekend dinner.
